Husky Village cabins
At the heart of the action
The Husky Village lies directly adjacent to the Dog Camp – the home of our four-legged-friends, and due to this unique and intimate situation, provides a special residence for a dog enthusiast.
At the Husky Village you are on-sight with the huskies for the entire duration of your stay; where your morning’s view of the beautiful forest scenery is invigorated by the sounds of joyful expectation emanating from the Dog Camp. The charge of their unrestrained energy powers your whole day until the evening howl welcomes the winter night. Add to this the bewildering solar spectacle of the Aurora Borealis and the “Northern Lights”, dancing across the crystal night sky to a heavenly musical of magical colour.
The cabins are located just by the Pallas-Ylläs Fell National Park, which means that hiking and skiing options in the surrounding nature are excellent. There are trails leaving from the area into the national park. Ylläs ski slopes are located less than 24 km away, Levi slopes just short of 52 km away. The nearest supermarket and town are 20 km away in Äkäslompolo.
During our winter dogsledding season the Husky Village provides a warm and welcoming base at the beginning and end of our week-long wilderness tours. Whilst during the summer the comfortable and accommodating cabins can be booked on a self-catering basis for adventures, or simply peaceful relaxation, in the heart of Lapland.
Currently the Husky Village boasts four modern, comfortable and well-equipped log-style cabins, each with three bedrooms; consisting of one double and two twin rooms, two bathrooms with WC and shower, a well-appointed modern kitchen and a comfortable open-plan living space with wood burning stove. Adjacent to the cabins is the Kota; a traditional Finnish hexagonal chalet which serves as a restaurant and meeting point for the Husky Village residents. Since this year we have two (barrel) saunas and two jacuzzi.
Those looking for a more remote and peaceful relaxation will find that our selection of traditional log cabins in the midst of Pallas-Ylläs National Park, will offer the perfect accommodation.(more information).

Summer at the Husky Village
About middle of August the training of the race-team starts and from middle of October on we train our dogs for the winter season. It is the ideal time to learn much more about the dogs, the training, feeding and how to get a great team of sled dogs. The training is mainly done by ATV, kickbike and cart. As soon as possible we try to train with the sled but of course, this is depending on the snow. Our dogs have been trained hundreds of kilometers before the tourism-season starts.
